Courses

• First Year - Semester One
• ESBL1003 Educational Pit Stops 1
• These monthly sessions will provide in-depth instruction on subjects of strategic importance as a continuance and extension of the Start-up Boot Camp. In a one-day format, topics may include management, legal, product/service development, IP management, marketing communications, go-to market strategy, sales, recruiting, financial planning and budgeting, bootstrapping, raising venture capital and securing alternative sources of funding. The evolution and timing of topics will be highly dependent on the real-time development needs of the students and their ventures.
• ESBL1005 Industry Showcase and Pitch Competitions 1
• These events will challenge the students to regularly prepare and present their ventures in a competitive environment attended by prospective investors, among other interested parties such as potential customers and other industry or community leaders. Where appropriate, students may be taken on field trips to observe or participate in “Demo Days.”
• ESBL1002 Mentor Match Ups & Meet Ups 1
• This programmatic element is intended to link students to relevant business mentors who will take an active role in their entrepreneurial journey by providing feedback, advice and connections to advance the success of their start-ups. Where appropriate, this may involve field trips to visit mentors, conduct site visits, participate in industry tours, and more.
• ESBL1004 Milestone Advisory Board Meetings 1
• This class will provide students with the opportunity to prepare and present regular progress reports. Taking place every four to six weeks, the course will involve an exclusive group of seasoned, highly accomplished entrepreneurs. This group will help the students set and monitor milestones to guide the allocation of time, talent and resources, fast tracking start-up growth.
• ESBL1000 Start Up Boot Camp
• An intensive, two-week session designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how to turn high-impact start-up ideas into a reality. The cornerstone of this experience will be helping the students understand and put into practice the Business Model Canvas, among other best-in-class practises.
• ESBL1001 StartUp Studio 1
• This course serves as a real-world lab where students build their start-ups alongside one another in an office environment and under the guidance of industry experts. Shared learning in the heart of the downtown Belleville business community will be a key component of this experiential learning platform.
