Belleville, Ontario, Feb. 9, 2023 – A record number of students are attending Loyalist College this winter semester, with 3,740 learners welcomed in January 2023. This largest-ever cohort of winter semester students surpasses the previous winter enrolment record set by the College in 2020 by 4 percent. The surge in Loyalist’s enrolment continues the positive trend established at the outset of the academic year when the College announced its highest-ever fall semester enrolment.

Overall, the College experienced a significant uptick in domestic and international enrolment year-over-year, boasting a 27 percent increase in total enrolment compared with the 2021/2022 academic year. The enrolment milestone follows Loyalist’s top-tier Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results released in January 2023 by Colleges Ontario, which identified Loyalist as the number one college in Ontario for graduate employment rates.

“More students are choosing Loyalist College’s inclusive learning environment to reach their full potential and realize their career goals,” said Mark Kirkpatrick, Acting President of Loyalist College. “Even as we achieve record-breaking enrolment numbers, students know they can expect unmatched levels of care, more one-to-one time with faculty, and innovative hands-on learning opportunities. Our student-centred approach is reflected in our KPI results, and our College community will continue to move mountains to ensure our learners succeed.”
