Student Success
Going off to College is a new and exciting experience! You are going to meet new people, learn new things and start or restart your career. Working towards that job you have always dreamed of opens up all kinds of possibilities. College can be one of the most fulfilling times of your life, but it can also be a little overwhelming. No matter how well prepared you think you are, you may still feel anxious. Did you know, it usually takes most students a semester to really settle in and feel comfortable?
Loyalist Student Success is here to help. Click here to learn about the many services available.
Campus Life
Where to eat
We have four dining locations on campus with options to suit every taste bud and budget, and a tax-free meal plan available to all students. To learn more about dining on campus or to purchase a meal plan, click here.
You won’t want to miss Resto 213, a fine-dining restaurant operated by Loyalist Culinary students. The Loyalist Market, just across from Resto 213, offers gourmet fresh and frozen take-out, also created by our five-star Culinary students.
Bookstore
Textbooks, school supplies, trade books, software, clothing and giftware are all available at the Loyalist College Bookstore.
Housing Options
Securing accommodation is the responsibility of Loyalist College students. The College’s Residences are peacefully nestled in a wooded country setting on campus, close to many student life activities. With enough space for 476 students, Loyalist has five suite-style Residence buildings. The College also has 104 spots in four fully furnished townhouse buildings. Apartment-style off-campus housing can range from $400 – $800 CAD per month, plus personal expenses. Please budget and plan accordingly. International Centre staff can work with you to find suitable accommodations.

Community Life
Loyalist sits on the border between Belleville and Quinte West, just north of Prince Edward County. These scenic waterfront regions are tucked in among agricultural producers and some of the province’s hottest tourist destinations. The result is a unique community that combines the convenience of big-city living with small-town warmth. For information, maps and photos, check out bayofquinte.ca.
Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
Each year, Loyalist College does award a number of scholarships, bursaries and awards to international students. Applications are only available to registered students at the College and the scholarships are awarded during the Fall semester. For details please visit our Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards for International Students web page.
Banking
Please bring Canadian currency to cover immediate costs when you first arrive in Canada. Upon request after arrival, the International Team can arrange an appointment at a bank within the community to set up a personal bank account.
