Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Faculty

Student’s Responsibility

It is the student’s responsibility to self-identify in regards to any academic supports and accommodations. Students are encouraged to contact the AccessAbility Centre to discuss individualized academic accommodations and supports.

Faculty’s Responsibility

The responsibility of faculty is to provide accommodations that have been outlined in the student’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP). AccessAbility Services encourage faculty to reach out to our team for information and support as needed. Accommodations are provided in accordance to the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilties ACT, 2005 (AODA).

Faculty support is also available through the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching Learning (CATL), including Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
