Ontario’s Accessibility Standard for Employment has established two requirements to help employees with disabilities stay safe during an emergency. These requirements are:
- Ensure that emergency procedures, plans and other safety information are available in accessible formats, when requested.
- Provide individual emergency response plans for employees who self-identify as having a disability and require a plan. Disabilities can be temporary or permanent.
