The Respect Committee at Loyalist College presented prizes to five finalists in the ‘Think Before You Speak’ Contest. Sponsored by the Respectful College Community Steering Committee, the contest was designed to give entrants the opportunity to show what inclusive language means to them. Participants were encouraged to express themselves through the creation of a short video, photograph or photography montage, written piece, audio piece, or work of art.
Now the proud owner of an iPad Mini, Lauren Haines took home first prize for her video submission, while runner-up Elizabeth McLennan received a Quinte Mall gift bag for her written submission. Three other finalists were presented with Dermalogica gift packages generously donated by The Spa at Loyalist and Aramark gift cards.
The finalists’ submissions were displayed for two weeks during the contest and voted on by students.
