The Serious Summer Fun calendar has arrived and registration has begun for the 2009 kids and teens summer camps at Loyalist College. The camps run from July 6th until August 21st with a wide range of choices for ages four to 17. Participants will have the opportunity to return to favourite camps from previous years, explore intriguing new options or spice up their summer with a combination of both.
“Once again we are pleased to be able to offer such a wide range of camps for so many ages,” said Katy Wedgwood, Program Coordinator. “Budding artists can learn more about drawing, sewing, papier-mâché or scrapbooking. Computer buffs will learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop and designing web pages, and physical activity is available in the golf, multi-sport, basketball and volleyball camps. Parents whose schedules don’t coincide with the camp hours can register their campers in Kids Corner, our early drop-off and late pick-up program. Parents will be pleased to see that prices have come down for two of our most popular camps – Fore! Golf camps and the Science camps. This is a great summer line-up and we look forward to seeing the campus brimming with happy campers again this summer.”
The Loyalist College Student Office for Alternative Resources (Disability Services) is offering a Kids and Teen Camp in Assistive Technology for those with learning disabilities. The five-day camps will provide hands-on training on assistive technology software programs such as Dragon Naturally Speaking – voice to text, and Inspiration – visual mind mapping.
The Serious Summer Fun at Loyalist College, Camps for Kids and Teens 2009 brochure is being distributed at local schools.
