Professionals Connect With Tomorrow’s Business Leaders

November 23, 2012

Today numerous professionals from local organizations attended the 10th annual Alliance Excellence Achievement Program (AEAP) Kickoff Event to meet Loyalist Business Administration students and learn about how they can help their businesses.

Through the AEAP program, professionals receive assistance from students in developing and implementing everything from a business or marketing plan to a social media, employee training, or recruitment project. For many local businesses, this collaborative community-based approach provides much needed resources to help address their economic, social, and sustainability challenges.

"The AEAP program is excellent because it enables us to gain actual work experience in our fields while developing a deeper understanding of the local business culture. As a group, our class works very well together – having fun as we do so. This results in an intellectually stimulating environment filled with many many ideas. When we graduate we will be experienced in thinking outside the box and tapping into our creativity."

"I know what I want to do – run my own business – and I’m learning the things I need to know to make that happen. Our professors bring a wealth of life experience to the classroom and have created opportunities, such as the AEAP program, that enable us to meet potential employers, develop a network and gain actual work experience for our resumes. Business trends are always changing and employers seem to appreciate that students in the Business Administration program learn current, relevant practices and are eager to apply those skills in positive, creative ways."

"When I started work after graduation I came to realize how much I had learned in the program – it was great. The professors were insightful, knowledgeable and great educators. Now I’m back, looking for students in the AEAP program who might be interested in helping me out with a business plan I’ve been working on. It’s interesting being on the other side of the relationship, yet also exciting – I know what students in this program are capable of and would love to have a group working with me on this initiative."
