On Wednesday, February 12th Loyalist College will welcome representatives of Good2Talk for the official launch of their post-secondary student helpline.
Good2Talk provides confidential telephone counselling and referral services for college and university students – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Funded by the Ontario Mental Health Innovation Fund and developed in partnership with Kids Help Phone, Connex Ontario, Ontario 211 and the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health, the helpline extends students’ access to mental health support services.

| Why: | Good2Talk representative Fiona O’Connor will provide members of the Loyalist community with an overview of the new post-secondary student helpline. She will discuss why it was created, how it works, and how students and staff can use it as a resource. The session will include a question and answer discussion period with audience members. |

Loyalist students have access to a variety of campus mental health supports including assessment, intervention and referral services. Community health resources play an important role in our ability to provide students with a strong network to turn to when needed.”
