Loyalist Hosts Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair

Over 200 students between grades four to 12 participated in the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair held for the first time at Loyalist College.

Loyalist Hosts Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair“We were delighted to show our support by welcoming the community to our campus on the 27th,” said Chantal Dilts, Coordinator of Recruitment & Special Events at the College. “Loyalist offers many science programs and we are pleased to see the excitement and interest in this field. There are many career opportunities for individuals with an interest in science, so I have no doubt that these students will have bright futures with their interest and innovation.”

Christopher Spencer was Co-Chair of the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair. “The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair has been hosted by the Quinte Mall for over 30 years.  Loyalist Hosts Quinte Regional Science and Technology FairThe generosity of the mall staff and patrons was exemplary. However increasing space constraints led us to cast about for another venue and Loyalist welcomed us.  The main advantage at Loyalist was the ability to provide a spacious display area where all projects could be located in one place.  This combined with the close proximity of the judges’ headquarters and committee room made the fair much easier to administer.  It was also much more convenient for students because Loyalist was able to provide tables and chairs – in the past students have had to bring their own.  It was an added bonus that we could employ the student lounge for our guest speaker presentation at lunch.”
