Loyalist College Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Fredericton and Husson University

Loyalist College announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of Fredericton (UFred) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and Husson University (HU), of Bangor, Maine, United States. The MOU marks the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship that will provide new opportunities for Canadian students with a diploma from a Canadian Public Community College to obtain a Bachelor’s degree.

Under terms of the agreement, graduates of Loyalist College’s School of Business and Management Studies and the Centre for Justice Studies programs will be eligible for admission to Husson University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, delivered through UFred’s online learning platform. The degree is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), one of the top accreditation agencies in North America. Upon successful completion of a degree, students of both disciplines will also be awarded a certificate from the University of Fredericton.

The MOU allows Loyalist College graduates the unique opportunity to complete their Bachelor’s Degree with as few as 10 additional courses. Students are able to complete their degree in half the time, at lower overall cost. Furthermore, it is online, permitting students to enroll from anywhere in the world, with no residency requirements, and without having to leave their home or job. Classes are open to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“At Loyalist, our students and their success are top priorities,” said Maureen Piercy, President of Loyalist College. “To help them advance, we are committed to offering greater choice and flexibility through new program models and options in high demand university transfer areas. We are pleased to partner with the University of Fredericton and Husson University, innovative institutions where students may be able to complete a university degree.”
