Men’s Volleyball:  Greg Gillespie, Matt Woods, Kyle Donnan, Dave Commerford and Mark Mullen

Women’s Soccer:  Heather Armstrong, Kayla Hambley, Vanessa Brault, and Jocelyne Laviolette

Men’s Basketball:  Damone Donaldson and Trevor Mayer

Men’s Rugby:  Sean McMurtry, Robert Solmes, Eric Early, Chad Baerwinkel, and Darren Brunne

Trevor Mayer, of the men’s basketball team, is a student in the College’s Child and Youth Worker program and a graduate of Moira Secondary School. “Juggling basketball, my studies and a job, I’ve learned that it is essential for me to manage my time wisely. My leadership role as captain of the team has helped me gain more confidence in my skills and that has had a positive impact on my role at work and within my program. The support of everyone in the Athletics Department is amazing and they are definitely there for all of us. Being a Lancer makes me feel a strong bond with the College and I know that my sense of pride as a Loyalist student is greater because of this.”

“Playing varsity volleyball has been so important to me,” said Rebecca Ramsay, a second-year Business Administration student and a graduate of Centre Hastings Secondary School. “I’ve always been a very competitive person so to be part of a team, knowing that those beside me want the same thing as much as I do, is the best feeling. I’ve met so many people, both athletes and non-athletes. It’s really great to be a part of this group.”

“The Lancers invited here today are both athletic and academic leaders and we are proud to have you as ambassadors of the College,” said Jim Buck, Manager of Athletics and Campus Recreation. “Returning players and new recruits have pulled together, building on each other’s experience and strength. Our rugby team has given us the highlight of our season to date, winning the Division II Championship. You set an exciting new tone in our division and made our team the one everyone needed to beat. Congratulations to all of you.”
