Members of the community are invited to attend Open House at Loyalist College on Tuesday, November 1st. The day has a full agenda of activities designed to showcase Loyalist’s campus and the wide range of 60 plus career-focused programs. Faculty and students will be available for questions at the program displays in the cafeteria from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the campus and take part in the interactive exhibits.
Chantal Dilts, Coordinator of Recruitment and Special Events, highlighted a few of the activities that guests will find at this year’s Open House. “There will be demonstrations of the Mechanical Techniques program’s latest pneumatic equipment and our Culinary Management and Chef Training students will be showcasing their talents, complete with samples. Guests are encouraged to visit the Nursing human simulation technology lab and see how Loyalist students participate in life-like scenarios with hi-fidelity human clinical simulators. 91X, the College radio station, will be broadcasting live in the cafeteria and free-trade coffee will be provided by the International Support Worker program. There will be many contest giveaways and the opportunity to win $2,000 to put toward first-year tuition at Loyalist College. In addition, people who are considering returning to school will have the opportunity to attend a Return to Learn session from 10:00 until noon.”
“There are always exciting developments at Loyalist College and our Open House gives us the opportunity to proudly showcase and share what we have to offer,” said Loyalist President Maureen Piercy. “We encourage secondary school students, teachers and the community to visit the College on November 1st. A visit to our campus is the ideal way for students to research the programs they are interested in, speak directly with our outstanding faculty and staff, and our awesome students, and to check out our facilities.”

With both January and September program starts this is the perfect time to explore opportunities, both for people preparing to enter the workforce and for those looking to return to school to upgrade their skills,” said Jeff Macnab, Loyalist Registrar. “We have a full range of success services to assist each student in achieving a well-rounded and successful college experience.”
The provincial College Information Program (C.I.P.) will be hosted by Loyalist on the same day. More than 20 community colleges from across Ontario will have information available for visitors. The C.I.P. displays will be in the gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
