Loyalist College Hosts Return to Learn Community Session

May 13, 2011

On Wednesday, May 25th Loyalist College will be hosting a Return to Learn session for those who are considering returning to school. This will provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of the education offerings available at Loyalist and the full range of support systems accessible to mature students.

Loyalist offers over 60 career-focused programs, with flexible learning options, including full-time, part-time and distance education opportunities. Participants will be able to evaluate which of these study modes best suits their needs and the financial assistance resources available. Appointments can be arranged with an advisor to assess the value of prior education and work experience that may be eligible for credit toward a program of study.

“The choice to return to learning is prompted by many factors, including the need for skills updates, career advancement and job layoffs,” said Jeff Macnab, Registrar. “When an individual has been away from the school environment for a period of time they have a number of questions. Program selection, the registration process and financial assistance eligibility are just some of their concerns. At this session we’ll outline opportunities and answer their questions. We’ll provide the information they need to make the education and career choices that are best for them.”

The Return to Learn information session will be held Wednesday, May 25th at 4:00 p.m. in the Wilkinson Lecture Theatre in the Kente Building at Loyalist College. For information call (613) 969-1913, ext. 2204 or email info@loyalistcollege.com.
