On Tuesday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m., Loyalist College invites mature students who are considering returning to school, or those who have already applied, to visit the campus for Return to Learn, a special information and planning session. Information will be presented on the program choices available and how to finance a college education, as well as the support services that the College has in place. Current students will be available to share their experiences of returning to school. There will be an opportunity to arrange an appointment with an advisor to explore further options and assess the value of prior education and work experience. Campus tours will also be available.
“Changes in today’s job market, career advancement and early retirement are just a few of the reasons why individuals who are not recent high school graduates enroll in college,” said Jeff Macnab, Loyalist College Registrar. “This information session is a great opportunity to visit the campus and, perhaps most importantly of all, meet others like yourself who have returned to college. These students understand your concerns and responsibilities, and can explain how they have been able to make things work. Although initially some people find the thought of returning to school slightly intimidating, once they are here they realize that their life experiences enrich their learning. When they graduate from the College, their previous work experience, blended with their new academic credentials, brings a depth to their résumé which does not go unnoticed by employers.”
Those considering returning to school full time, part time or through distance education can call (613) 969-1913, ext. 2399 to find out more about the May 27th information and planning sessions. Those attending are invited to enter a draw to win $2,000 to be put toward their tuition costs at Loyalist College.
