Loyalist College is hosting its 13th annual golf tournament on Friday, September 16 at the Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., with lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Registration is $150 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a power cart, a barbecue lunch, dinner and great prizes.
The tournament is a fundraiser in support of the College’s endowment fund to provide financial assistance for Loyalist students. To date, sponsors for the event include: Starboard Communications Ltd., TD Insurance Meloche Monnex, Wilkinson & Company LLP, Xerox Canada Ltd., Empire Life, AECOM, Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club, Electro Systems, Campus Living Centres, John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation Inc., and Proforma Urban Peddler Promotions. The Loyalist College Alumni Association is sponsoring a $25,000 Hole-in-One where the winner will receive $20,000 in cash, and a contribution of $5,000 to the Loyalist College Foundation will be made, for which a tax receipt will be issued for $5,000.
Bernie Ouellet and Bruce Davis, Co-Chairs of the Tournament Committee, explain that the proceeds will benefit students at the College throughout the future. “The funds raised at this event will be matched by the provincial government through the Ontario Trust for Student Support program, and that is a tremendous opportunity for us to maximize the money raised to support our students. Since the tournament started 13 years ago, a total of $413,980 has been raised for the endowment fund. We are looking to increase that level of support with this year’s event!”
