Winter 2011 Continuing Education Courses and Programs

Distribution of the Winter 2011 FOCUS calendar will begin through local newspapers beginning December 9th. The publication outlines the variety of learning opportunities available through Continuing Education at Loyalist College. Over 1,000 part-time, evening and distance education courses, certificate and diploma programs, as well as a number of shorter workshops, will be offered at the College’s campuses in Belleville and Bancroft and at seven other community locations. Most winter semester courses begin during the week of January 17th, and many on-line courses offer monthly intakes.

FOCUS is available on-line December 9th at loyalistfocus.com. Registration for all courses, both on and off-campus, can be done on-line and by mail, fax, phone and in person, beginning December 9th. Call (613) 969-7900 or toll free 1-866-344-9944.

“We’re excited to be releasing the newest FOCUS filled with great choices for the upcoming season,” said Trudie Lake, Manager of Continuing Education. “In November we attended LERN’s International conference in Chicago. Over 700 delegates were present, representing seven countries. We attended sessions profiling the innovative ideas being used in part-time, continuing education and contract training divisions at colleges and universities across North America and from as far away as Russia and Australia.”

“Loyalist College was applauded for the 2009-2010 Serious Summer Fun Kids and Teens Camp brochure,” she added. “In addition, LoyalistFocus.com Fall 2010 website was featured as one of the Best Websites of the Year. We are proud to have Loyalist acknowledged as a leader in this international forum and will continue to develop innovative new learning opportunities and delivery options that make it possible for life-long learning to be accessible to everyone.”

Some of the courses, programs and workshops being offered this semester include: Money Smart Kids, Zumba, Security Guard Training, Learn to Meditate, Budgeting Workshop, Green Design for Home or Business, Dreamy Desserts, Colour Confidence, and ECE and DSW Apprenticeship.
