Loyalist College Connects Professionals with Tomorrow

November 22, 2012

On Friday, November 23rd, numerous professionals from local organizations will attend the 10th annual Alliance Excellence Achievement Program (AEAP) Kickoff Event to meet Loyalist Business Administration students and learn about how they can help their businesses.

Through the AEAP program, professionals receive assistance from students in developing and implementing everything from a business or marketing plan to a social media, employee training, or recruitment project. For many local businesses, this collaborative community-based approach provides much needed resources to help address their economic, social, and sustainability challenges.

Testimonials:

  • “We love working with these students,” said Connie Reid, the Executive Director for Quinte Children’s Foundation, a not-for-profit organization. “They bring fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm to the table.”
  • “Loyalist’s School of Business and Management Studies has great facilitators who guide students over the hurdles, always keeping in mind the goals of the business involved,” says Belleville Fire and Emergency Training Officer, Carson Cross.
  • “It is a win-win-win situation,” says Darcelle Runciman, an enterprise resource facilitator. “The businesses win, the community has economic prosperity, and the students gain experience and build their network.”

Once students showcase the possibilities, it is up to the professionals to convince students why they should work with them. At a separate event in the New Year, businesses take to the stage to pitch their project ideas.
