Loyalist College faculty, staff and students are looking forward to welcoming guests to the Fall Open House on Thursday, October 31st from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon. Prospective students of all ages are encouraged to stop by the annual showcase event to learn more about our 65 full-time programs and related careers. Whether you’re interested in Business and Management, Health, Human and Justice Studies, Applied Sciences, Skilled Trades and Technology, or Media, Arts and Design – you’ll be sure to find a rewarding career path.
Visitors can participate in an interactive and fun campus tour, better known as ‘Passport Loyalist.’ An exciting addition to this year’s circuit is the new Digital Media Centre, complete with a 10,000-square-foot integrated newsroom with video editing suites, a television studio, interview booths and audio production booths. Guests will also visit the Link Lounge – a bright, spacious student area with a ‘living wall’ that cultivates a 25-foot self-sufficient vertical garden of about 345 plants. The biofilter system improves air quality, creating a truly green space for students. One of the most popular stops on the tour is at the suite-style Residence where students get a feel for their home away from home.
In the Student Success Hub, our dedicated Student Success Services team will highlight numerous resources available to help students enjoy a positive and successful College experience. Support services range from peer tutoring, confidential counselling and success mentors to alternative testing services and seminars on learning skills. Additional resources can be explored in the Aboriginal Resource Centre, AccessAbility Centre, and International Centre.
A college education is a smart investment in your future. At Loyalist, we do everything we can to make sure cost isn’t a barrier. Our Financial Services staff will be on hand to help students explore funding and financial assistance options.
Great prizes will be drawn throughout the morning, including $2,000 toward your 2014-15 Loyalist tuition fees.
