Open House Fall 2008

The Loyalist campus was alive with excitement as several hundred high school students arrived by the busload to explore the campus and learn more about the wide range of career-oriented programs available here. The provincial College Information Program (C.I.P.) was also hosted by the College on the same day. Twenty-two community colleges from across Ontario had information available for visitors.

Open House Fall 2008"This is the first open house that I have been to at Loyalist and I think it’s really good because it is a one-stop event," said Kaity Shisheesh from Nicholson Catholic College. "I’ve been able to talk to so many people all in one place. I think that the Social Service Worker program here sounds interesting and I really like the athletic facilities. It’s a small campus which has a nice feeling."

Open House Fall 2008"I’ve always been interested in the Culinary program at Loyalist," said Sarina-Lynn Thompson, from East Northumberland Secondary School. "I take cooking classes at my high school and have entered many cooking competitions, including the Junior Iron chef competition that Loyalist hosts. The campus is beautiful and I really love the atmosphere here. Most importantly though, I’m ready to learn. I’ve already checked out the courses. I love the idea of being here and I’m totally psyched about starting at Loyalist this fall."

Open House Fall 2008"Last year when I attended Loyalist’s Open House I found it really helpful," said Kaite Cousins from Nicholson Catholic College. "This year I’m trying to make more serious decisions as to what I will be doing next year. Something new that I learned is that they now have a women’s rugby team and I think that’s great because I love rugby. It’s nice to know that Loyalist is here in our community and that we can stay close to home if we choose to."
