As part of the Loyalist Culinary course of study the students work in the College dining room, Club 213 – a popular destination frequented by those on campus and guests from the surrounding area. Each year, rather than keeping their tips for themselves, the students pool all of their gratuities. A portion of this total is contributed to a scholarship fund and part to the students’ charity of choice. On April the 12th Sue Rollins accepted a cheque for $400.00 from this year’s Culinary students as a donation to Wheels of Hope – Canadian Cancer Society. Past recipients of this culinary kindness include Gleaners Food Bank, Adopt a Child, the Humane Society, the Alzheimer Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.
