Crown Ward Education Championship Team

The Crown Ward Education Championship Team initiative is a part of the Provincial Government’s “Reaching Higher” plan introduced in 2005. A part of this plan is to enhance “Access to Opportunities” for youth with Crown Ward status, and in particular to help Crown Wards succeed in high school and post-secondary education.

Loyalist College understands that higher education must address the personal and developmental needs of the student as a human being. Student Success Services have been established and resources allocated for the purposes of meeting student’s needs and enhancing student learning. Loyalist believes in the value of improved higher education access and will advocate for inclusiveness for all persons regardless of ability/background.

In response to the Crown Ward Education initiative, Loyalist College has developed a support model offering mentorship, peer support, motivation, and guidance geared specifically towards youth with current or former crown ward status.
