Business and Service Professionals Look To Students for Solutions

January 28, 2011

Today the first group of 19 representatives of large and small businesses, entrepreneurs, service and not-for-profit organizations delivered their company project presentations to the College’s Business students. Each representative came with the objective of partnering with a group of the students to work with their organization to solve business challenges they are experiencing. Several of those presenting were returning after successful partnerships in previous years — others were attending for the first time in hopes of benefiting from this talented pool of creative energy and skills. In the past, these partnerships have given Business students the opportunity to document policies and procedures, develop business and marketing plans, create recruitment and retention programs, analyze cost-cutting opportunities, complete detailed needs analyses and reorganize warehouse-material flow.

The second group of presentations will take place on February 4th. Based on the information provided, the students will pursue one of the 38 initiatives, forming community partnerships that address the presenters’ needs and the students’ goals of applying their acquired skills in the workplace.
