The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies is pleased to invite the media to the launch of the Tour for Humanity in the City of Belleville.
“For the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, silence is not an option. The Tour for Humanity is an educational initiative that brings awareness to communities across Ontario, while engaging Canadians on issues pertaining to human rights and respect. With a growing number of bullying reports this is the perfect time to educate students, as well as community members on how to take action, and prevent bullying before it starts. We are simply hoping to bring a message of tolerance and respect and to help make the world a better place for everyone.” Avi Benlolo, President and CEO
This exciting and unique educational initiative is a fully self-contained, technologically advanced Tolerance Education Center that is designed to address issues of human rights and social justice. It will inspire and empower participants to raise their voices and take action against hate to help make the world a better place. The Tour for Humanity is a program that was developed over the course of five years, and has been Touring Ontario since November 2013.

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is a leading non-profit human rights organization directly representing over 30,000 Canadian members. FSWC is committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of tolerance, social justice and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education. Through its affiliation with the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the organization has won two Academy Awards, has two Museums of Tolerances (with a third being built in Jerusalem) and is represented at the United Nations and the OSCE. FSWC has a diverse number of programs, including Freedom Day, Speakers Idol and the Tour4Humanity.
