Community Messages & Memories
Thank you to all Loyalist students and employees who are joining us in congratulating the graduating class of 2020 by submitting a short video, photo or written message!
Hello, I hope this message finds you all safe and well! First and most importantly, I’d just like to say thank you! And I’d like to convey this “Thank you” to all of my professors, faculty and fellow students! All though this is a time of uncertainty, as we try and navigate this new reality; it should also be a time of great happiness, and we should all feel a real sense of accomplishment as well. This has been a year like no other before it. Yet, with all the difficulties that have presented themselves through COVID19 – (i.e) School closures, rushed goodbyes with friends and faculty, as well as adapting to online learning and everything else that Covid-19 has stolen from us; WE STILL MADE IT THROUGH! and for that, we should all be extremely proud of ourselves! It was a tall order and short notice. Yet, Loyalist College came together as a school and community; Demonstrating unity, resilience, courage, adaptability and determination. Rising to the occasion and overcoming strenuous circumstances contributes to positively preparing us with the knowledge, strength and strategy to combat, vanquish and subdue these types of situations that may present themselves in our futures. Turn a negative into a positive! Live, Love and Learn! Implement all of that newly acquired know-how into moulding a strong foundation on which you can be successful! Hopefully one day you will be able to look back on these times and say to yourself ”Hey, I got through this. ”and everything else will become a little easier! Whatever the outcome or wherever your destination – I hope you strive for greatness and persevere abitituously! You have worked long and hard – You deserve this! CONGRATULATIONS to ALL OF YOU!!! Best Regards, Mika Browning

My Loyalist memory is playing basketball. The team and coaches made me push myself to do things I never knew I could accomplish on the court even though I was there on the sidelines for months. Also while in class I met two of my best friends and I am so glad I did; they have been by my side since. I am proud to call myself a Lancer. –Megan Brown, Developmental Services Worker Graduate |

Either continue living my life feeling muddled in this abyss of self-misunderstanding or I find my own identity, I’ve made my choice after graduating from Loyalist and I couldn’t be more proud, I owe it to the faculty and the students who’ve helped me strive, not survive. –Priyanka Patel, Chemical Engineering Technician Graduate |

My time at Loyalist is one huge memory I will never forget. My top three memories are: walking through the doors of the Kente Building as a freshman in 2015, the first time I attended pub night, and giving college another chance in 2018 when I chose SSW as my program. Loyalist has always been a second home to me. Five years of walking those halls, and four different programs. I did not succeed at two of those programs, but I am finally graduating and I couldn’t be any prouder. I will miss Loyalist and am forever grateful for the faculty, the resources, and the students for helping me get this far. –Tracey Coulas, Social Service Worker Graduate |

My time at Loyalist College was a good experience for me. Why? Because you get to know how to adjust to college life and the real world. Secondly, I did placements like RHINO and the Quinte Wellness Center. I was part of the CICE group, with people who dont do acandmic courses in High School and students that have learning problems. Finally, in conclusion, I made a lot of friends at college and attended my courses. Fitness was my elective, and the other courses were CICE-related, including reading and math. –Anthony Cozier, CICE Graduate |
|
I’ll be honest, I thought I wouldn’t make it. But somehow I managed to make it through 3 years of the program and successfully graduate. I give my thanks to my professors and classmates for helping me as we worked together on several projects. I hope we meet again someday.
