Experiential Learning
Explore topics such as planning and coordination, legislative frameworks, risk and assessment, incident management systems, incident response and crisis communications to prepare for a career providing management expertise in a range of emergency situations.
- Learn how to develop, review and update emergency policies and programs based upon relevant legislation, standards and procedures, and what is required to conduct effective hazards identification and risk assessments.
- Explore developing, conducting and evaluating training programs and exercises to test current emergency management programs while assessing the integration and compatibility of various emergency polices, plans and procedures.
- Develop strategies for implementing and maintaining a business continuity plan that will ensure the recovery of normal operations for affected businesses and industries.
- Get an introduction to coordinating the development and administration of public awareness and education programs, emergency information and media relations programs.
