Loyalist College Supports 2013 United Way of Quinte Campaign

January 14, 2014

A cheque for $10,410 was presented to the United Way of Quinte from the Loyalist College community today.  Special events held on campus, as well as donations from individuals and groups, contributed to the success of this year’s campaign at Loyalist.

The campus campaign was launched in October with a pancake breakfast supported by the Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise, Bib’s Meats, Aramark, Club 213, Findlay Foods, and Reid’s Dairy.  Other events included a product sale organized by Loyalist Enactus students, and a very successful “Police Run” by Police Foundations students. Donations from students and employees brought the total campaign to $10,410.

“We are pleased to celebrate the generosity of students, faculty, staff, and supporting donors to the United Way of Quinte,” said Loyalist President Maureen Piercy.  “I would especially like to recognize the outstanding efforts of students in the Loyalist Enactus club, the Police Foundations program, and those of the Loyalist Student Government.  Loyalist is proud to join with our community in supporting the United Way with our campus campaign.”
