Loyalist College Supports 2010 United Way of Quinte Campaign

January 13, 2011

The 2010 United Way Campaign at Loyalist College has established a record level of support for the 2010 United Way of Quinte Campaign, with total donations reaching $26,370.  Special events held on campus, as well as donations from individuals and groups, contributed to the success of this year’s campaign at Loyalist.

United Way of Quinte Campaign Chair, Mark Philbin and Campaign Director, Connie Reid were presented with a cheque at a celebration at the College on December 9.

The College’s campaign was launched in October with a pancake breakfast supported by the Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise, Bib’s Meats, Chartwells, Club 213, Findlay Foods, and Reid’s Dairy.  Other events included community product sales organized by the post-graduate Public Relations students, Police Foundations program student runs, and an employee payroll deduction campaign.

“We are delighted to celebrate the generosity of students, faculty, staff, and supporting donors by presenting the United Way of Quinte with this year’s campaign receipts,” said Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy. “I would especially like to thank the Student Government, and students in both the post-graduate Public Relations program, and the Police Foundations program. Our contributions provide very important support and encouragement to so many in our communities.”
