Belleville, Ontario, March 21, 2013 – Outstanding student leaders at Loyalist College were recognized at the seventh annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, March 20. Twenty-six students were recognized through the presentation of the Pollitt Awards, named in honour of Director of Student Life Fred Pollitt.
“Each of these student leaders has a bright future ahead of them,” said Fred Pollitt. “In particular, I would like to acknowledge the contributions of this year’s Student Government. They have represented the student body well, and achieved so much for the College.”
Loyalist President Maureen Piercy also commended the group. “Leadership is an individual commitment to make things better, and at Loyalist that means leaving our campus a better place than when you arrived. Each of these student leaders has done just that by undertaking a number of initiatives to enrich the lives of students and staff at this College.”
