On Saturday, November 12, the Lancers won the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Division II men’s rugby championship for the third straight year. The team finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 6-0-0.
The win marked Loyalist’s 20th consecutive match without a loss. The last time the team lost was in the 2008 gold medal match against St. Lawrence-Kingston.
Second-year player Luke Shillington of Belleville was named Man of the Match for the victorious Lancers.
