Belleville, Ontario, January 8, 2013 – Enactus Loyalist College, a student-run volunteer organization, is pleased to present The Bullpen, a forum where aspiring entrepreneurs in the Quinte region can pitch their business ideas to local business leaders for invaluable advice and potential project funding.
Aptly named after the area where baseball pitchers warm-up before a game, The Bullpen mimics the CBC’s popular Dragons’ Den show. The panel of big-league scouts includes high-profile professionals Mark Hanley, Greg Knudsen, Ross McDougall, John Sherratt, Brian Smith, Mark Rashotte, and John Williams.
For aspiring entrepreneurs invited into The Bullpen, convincing these judges that their idea is a home run will be no easy feat. The stakes are high. To score seasoned guidance and a potential investment from the judges, they will need a creative idea, as well as passion and sound business sense.
To participate in the first round of The Bullpen, candidates must submit a one-page business plan for consideration by Friday, February 8, 2013 to thebullpen@enactusloyalistcollege.com. The proposal may be for a business concept that needs direction getting off the ground – or an existing business that requires additional support and suggestions to advance, since launching in recent years.
