Guard.me Health Insurance

Medical care in Canada is very expensive. The mandatory health insurance (as part of the tuition payment) with Guard.me is an annual policy and is valid for registered students on the first of the month of their intake (September 1, January 1 and May 1). Any student who registers their travel and arrives prior to their policy effect date will have a daily insurance package added to their student account for each day from arrival in Canada until August 30. The daily cost is $1.65 .

Medical care in Canada is very expensive in the event of an emergency, an accident, or if you become ill. Having this daily insurance policy until your annual policy is in effect will be a fraction of the cost compared to a medical bill from a Canadian hospital for medical attention during a global pandemic. This insurance will automatically be arranged on your behalf and charges will be added to your Loyalist College student account. Details will be included in the travel documents after registering your travel with the College.

Please note: The mandatory annual Guard.me policy does not cover pre-existing conditions, so please plan accordingly before travelling to Canada if you have a pre-existing condition that you need to manage.
