  • You can see your amounts being released for Fall and Winter semesters on your OSAP portal, under funding summary OSAP – Loyalist College.
  • You can see your tuition amounts through your myFees in your myLoyalist portal.
Reminders:

Your OSAP funding will not be released until all required documentation has been submitted, reviewed and approved, and you are registered as a full-time student according to Ministry guidelines. Additionally, funding cannot be released if there is an active or unresolved OSAP restriction on your account.

  • If your program has three semesters during the academic year (Fall, Winter, Spring) be aware that funding will be released in two instalments (Fall and Winter). You will need to budget your funding to cover tuition fees and living costs during the Spring semester.
  • To be eligible for full-time OSAP, you must be enrolled in at least 60 percent course load.
  • To be eligible for part-time OSAP, you must be enrolled in 20 – 59 percent course load.
  • Students who have indicated a confirmed permanent disability are eligible for full-time OSAP at a 40 percent course load.
  • Course load is determined by the number of hours or courses within your semester.
  • Deadline to submit your OSAP application: 60 days before the end of your study period.
Where funding is directed:

Once funding is released, Loyalist will redirect funding from your OSAP to pay outstanding tuition and fees.

  • If the amount of the OSAP instalment exceeds the amount owing to Loyalist, the difference will be deposited into the bank account you specified when completing the MSFAA.
  • If the amount is less than the amount due, you are expected to pay the difference from your own resources.
  • You should receive funding five-to-seven days after we have confirmed your enrolment.
  • OSAP is issued in two instalments with approximately 60 percent issued in your first semester and 40 percent in your second.
  • Your funding is released separately by the federal and provincial governments and may be deposited a few days apart. This is normal, so there is no need to worry.
Please notify the Financial Aid Office immediately if you:
  • Reduce your course load

  • Withdraw from your program
  • Have changes in your financial information (Your income is verified by OSAP. Not reporting changes could affect your eligibility for current or future funding).
