Who needs REB support?
Any faculty, staff or student who wishes to conduct research involving human participants at
Loyalist College
Any external researcher who wishes to conduct research using any member of the Loyalist College community or
college resources
Anyone in these two categories must submit an application for review and approval before beginning any research.
How to Apply
Complete the TCPS 2 training (CORE)
Complete your application on the downloadable form and email it to ethics@loyalistcollege.com with all required signatures and appendices

- RES 102 – Responsible Conduct of Research
- RES 103 – Conducting Research by and with Indigenous Peoples and Communities
- RES 104 – Responsible Conduct of Research Involving Human Participants
- REB Terms of Reference & Timelines
- Applications will be received at any time
- Applications meeting the criteria for a delegated review will be reviewed and responded to in the order they are received.
- Applications not meeting the criteria for a delegated review will be held until the next Board meeting.
- Applications are reviewed according to TCPS 2 guidelines.
- If an application has been reviewed by the Board and modifications are required prior to approval being granted, the applicant may only re-submit the revisions twice before having to re-submit a full application. Re-submissions will adhere to original review timelines.
