1. Introduction and Purpose
Loan of College owned equipment and materials to students, faculty, or organizations external to the College are subject this policy and the associated procedure.
2. Application
This Policy applies to the entire College community.
3. Policy Statement
- Equipment and materials under the control of the Anderson Centre for Information Services shall be issued subject to the restrictions and procedures covering the issue of such equipment and materials for in-College use.
- The loan of other materials and equipment shall be the responsibility of the head of the division to which they have been assigned. The head of the division shall be responsible for ensuring that materials and equipment are returned to the College.
- The Loan Equipment Form (See Appendix A), shall be completed for all materials and equipment on loan from the College. A copy shall be given to the borrower to authorize removal from the building.
- Loan of equipment to persons or organizations external to the College must be approved by the appropriate Director or Dean.
- In general, equipment may not be lent to profit-making organizations. Exceptions may be authorized by the Director or Dean for appropriate reasons; e.g. to companies which have provided valuable free assistance to the College’s teaching program.
- Equipment removed on loan from the College may not be covered by the College insurance policy; hence persons lending and borrowing equipment must be aware of this risk.
