At Loyalist, we’re committed to investing in our infrastructure to create innovative learning spaces with state-of-the-art technologies to help you prepare for the jobs of tomorrow. At the Belleville campus, we’ve proudly opened the doors to several new learning centres in the past few years. Today, construction continues as we continue to update our facilities.

Northumberland Wing Interprofessional Simulation Centre 

The third floor of the Northumberland Wing is where Loyalist students in the health, community, justice and social services programs collaborate on integrated programming, projects and applied research. This innovative experiential learning space houses interprofessional simulation labs and high-tech classroom environments.

  • The Interprofessional Simulation Centre offers students and community health partners hands-on professional experience using the latest simulation technology to participate in realistic, interactive real-life scenarios. 
  • Through experiential learning, students develop competence and confidence in a safe, realistic environment. 
  • Access to the latest tools, technologies and human simulation specialists prepares students for real-life challenges in the workplace.

The Bay of Quinte Skills Centre 

From carpentry and automotive to welding, mechatronics and more, skilled trades, building sciences and biosciences students gain hands-on experience working with current industry technologies in the 121,800-square-foot Bay of Quinte Skills Centre. 

  • The living wall cultivates a self-sustaining vertical garden of about 345 plants creating a biofilter system to improve air quality.  
  • The Skills Centre earned LEED® Silver Certification from the Canada Green Building Council in recognition of the college’s achievements in energy-efficient design, construction and operation. 
  • The Skills Centre supports the development of the latest skills for workers of local companies to help drive regional economic growth. 
  • In Loyalist’s new Mechatronics lab, students have access to the innovative technologies they need to develop the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce in a wide variety of industrial and advanced manufacturing environments. 
  • In our fully equipped chemistry, instrumentation, molecular biology and field biology labs, students gain hands-on experience using industry-specific technologies.

Digital Media Centre 

Creative industries students bring stories to life in Loyalist’s Digital Media Centre (DMC). Our 10,000-square-foot integrated newsroom features:

  • Video editing suites
  • Television studio
  • Interview booths
  • Audio production booths
  • Meeting rooms

Unwind Spa 

Open to the community! 

Unwind is a Loyalist College’s training spa, operated by students in the Esthetics and Spa Management program. This busy wellness retreat and retail boutique offers full esthetic services to the Bay of Quinte community in a supervised environment.  

Nourish and The Market 

Open to the community! 

In 2023, Loyalist opened new culinary labs and a retail market space, providing opportunities for culinary students to refine their skills alongside experienced faculty, expert researchers and industry professionals. In 2024, we look forward to opening the doors to Nourish, a fully licensed 100-seat dining room.  

Centre for Natural Products 

The Centre for Natural Products (CNP) is an innovation hub within Loyalist College with expertise in plant-based technologies. 

The CNP specializes in working with start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to transform research results into high-quality and innovative products. 

Centre for Healthy Communities 

Loyalist’s Centre for Healthy Communities (CFHC) is a new applied research centre focused on tackling urgent problems in health care, social services and community well-being. 

eLab

The eLab in Belleville provides flexible online learning with dedicated eLearning classrooms, personal workstations, high-speed internet, support from dedicated staff and access to a college services.  

91X Alternative Radio  

Serving the Bay of Quinte region, 91X is Loyalist’s CRTC licensed community campus radio station.
