Belleville, ON, Feb. 29, 2024 – Loyalist College again demonstrates excellence and leadership in the post-secondary education sector by surpassing provincial averages in every category, including graduate employment, employer satisfaction and graduate satisfaction, as reported in the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results released yesterday by Colleges Ontario.

According to the KPI data, Loyalist excelled in employer satisfaction, boasting a 100 percent employer satisfaction rate, well above the provincial average at 91.8 percent.

Loyalist College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick celebrated the results and reflected on the significance of Loyalist’s outstanding employer satisfaction rates. “As a community-focused institution and driver of regional workforce development, it’s our mission to ensure Loyalist students graduate ready to succeed and add value to the workforce,” he says. “These results speak to our continued ability to align our programs to industry needs and supply the labour market with highly trained professionals who bring essential skills and knowledge to the workplace.”

In addition, 89.3 percent of 2021–22 Loyalist graduates secured employment within six months post-graduation, exceeding the provincial average of Ontario’s 24 colleges at 85.8 percent. Loyalist also enjoys a graduate satisfaction rate of 80.5 percent, above the provincial average of 76.8 percent.

“Our excellent KPI results clearly indicate our institutional alignment with our values and strategic vision,” adds President Kirkpatrick. “We continue to make investments in our facilities, programming, research initiatives and student engagement experiences to ensure that Loyalist College is well-positioned to continue fulfilling our purpose as a resource for industry and the community.”

The Ontario colleges’ KPIs were developed collaboratively by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Colleges Ontario and student associations in 1996. This was in response to recommendations from the provincial auditor to create outcomes-based accountability measures.

The annual KPIs allow colleges to monitor year-over-year progress against their goals and determine ways to improve their programs that support the student experience. KPI results also give prospective students details to help them make informed choices about post-secondary education.
