Belleville, Ontario, June 23, 2022 – This summer, Loyalist College is proud to partner with
The Children’s Foundation and
LAUNCH Waterloo to offer an educational and affordable kids’ camp in the Bay of Quinte region. The summer camp will focus on bringing science, technology, engineering, art, math (STEAM), and athletics programming to families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to send their children to camp.
“We are thrilled to partner with LAUNCH and the Children’s Foundation to offer exciting, hands-on summer programming for campers in the Bay of Quinte,” said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, President and CEO of Loyalist College. “As a regional hub for learning, innovation, and community connection, Loyalist is always looking at ways we can create new and unique offerings for youth, such as this innovative summer camp program that merges STEAM and Athletics.”
At only $50 per week, these camps seek to ensure that affordable, accessible and inclusive opportunities are available to all families in the region. Before- and after-camp care, as well as nutritious meals and snacks, are also available to participants.
“We are excited to be a part of Loyalist College’s STEAM & Athletics Camp program to ensure all kids have the opportunity to attend a summer camp,” said Kim Henry, Executive Director, The Children’s Foundation. “With the year of isolation we’ve had, it’s important that we give every young person the chance to be a kid again. With the programming being provided by Loyalist College, and the funding from The Children’s Foundation, every child will be able to experience summer camp. We are hoping this will be a summer the kids will never forget.”
