Belleville, Ontario, April 2, 2019 – At Loyalist College’s Open House this Saturday, April 6, discover how you can reach your career destination through hands-on learning and rewarding workplace experiences. Pre-register at loyalistcollege.com/openhouse for a chance to win a Fjällräven backpack.

From 10 am to 1 pm, explore more than 70 full-time advanced diploma, diploma and certificate programs beginning September 2019 that lead to all kinds of careers. Meet with faculty, staff and students in applied sciences, biosciences, building sciences, business and management studies, health and wellness, community services, public safety, media studies, and skills and technology programs.

Learn about apprenticeships, hundreds of online, distance and in-class courses, as well as pathways from Loyalist College to university through more than 100 university transfer agreements across Canada and beyond. Receive advice on how to pay for college education, including information about Loyalist’s on-campus employment opportunities, awards and bursaries, totalling more than $1 million each year.

Open House is a great time to explore Loyalist’s contemporary learning centres, including the newly renovated Northumberland Wing with state-of-the-art simulation technology; The Bay of Quinte Skills Centre, a technology and trades training centre of choice for Southeastern Ontario, and the Digital Media Centre, where students write, report, share photographs, host programs and produce web, social media and video and audio content.

The College’s Community Integration Through Co-operative Education (CICE) program is hosting an information session during Open House from 10 – 11:30 am in Alumni Hall. Program staff, OCAS and Developmental Services Ontario will be making presentations to prospective students.

In addition to applying online, prospective students can now apply from their phone – anytime and from anywhere – using the ontariocolleges.ca app. It allows applicants to create an application or log in to an existing application; browse Ontario college programs; create a favourites list of programs; add up to five programs to their application, with no more than three at any one college; request transcripts; pay for and submit their application; and view, accept and decline offers of admission.
