Loyalist College has experienced a cyberattack. The incident was identified on July 9 and has been contained. We immediately notified provincial authorities and initiated an investigation. The college alerted our community to the system interruption through an announcement posted on our website. We also retained third party experts to investigate the cause and scope of the incident and assist with restoration.
Our network remains impacted, affecting a range of systems and services, including email, on-campus internet access, myLoyalist, Canvas and college systems that support student registration and tuition and fee payments. The college website is available and telephone services are operational.
The campus remains open and in-person classes are continuing. Online classes delivered through the college’s learning management system, Canvas, are suspended until further notice. OntarioLearn courses are continuing as scheduled.
