How do I apply?
When preparing your application, take your time, providing thoughtful and complete responses and information to ensure your application can be assessed. Remember that you only submit one application for the academic year, so make it count!
Application deadlines for the 2025-2026 academic year:
1st Round: Monday, October 13, 2025 (CLOSED)
2nd Round: December 1, 2025 (CLOSED)
3rd Round: February 1, 2026
All applications received prior to midnight on Thanksgiving Day, October 13, will be considered in the first round of selections.
If you have not yet submitted an application, you can continue to do so up until the final deadline of February 1, 2026.
Your application will continue to be eligible and be considered for second and third rounds in December and February as new bursaries and scholarships become available throughout the academic year. If your circumstances change or you made a mistake and wish to update your application, please submit it again. All applications are time- and date-stamped, and in the event of duplicate applications, we will consider the most recent submission.
Notifications for selected applicants only will go out approximately one month following each deadline.

Frequently asked questions
The application goes live at the beginning of the Fall semester. You complete one application that is used for consideration for all available awards, scholarships and bursaries.
If you have accepted your offer to Loyalist and are attending in the fall, you will have to wait until then to apply as awards/bursaries are for currently enrolled students. A new application is opened at the start of each academic year.
Applications are reviewed in three rounds, so make sure you apply by one of the three deadlines.
- 1st Round: Thanksgiving Monday
- 2nd Round: first Monday of December
- 3rd Round: first Monday of February
All applications time-stamped prior to 11:59 PM on the closing date will be considered. Your application will continue to be considered in subsequent rounds as new awards become available, so there is no need to apply more than once.
There are more than 200 donor-supported awards available for students, and each has its own criteria. Simply take the time to fill out the single application in as much detail as possible, and you will be considered for every award for which you’re a match.
Our donors support students from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. They want to know your goals and ambitions and the challenges or opportunities that have brought you to Loyalist. And they want to help.
Students who are chosen to receive awards will be contacted via their college email address. The remaining candidates will remain in the pool and be reevaluated in subsequent rounds.
All applications that were submitted for the Fall Term will be maintained for the Winter application period, meaning if you applied for the Fall round, you would NOT need to re-apply for the Winter term, unless there has been a change in your application information.
We will review your most recent application if you reapply. Unfortunately, because of the large number of candidates, we are only able to inform those who are selected.
Your award/scholarship/bursary will be automatically posted to your Student Account and will be applied to your tuition balance if there is one on your account. If you do not have any outstanding balance, your funds will be sent directly to you.
Please be aware that it may take 2-3 weeks before you receive your refund.
Your award/bursary has been funded generously by the donor to make sure students are able to complete their studies and remove financial barriers. To ensure this, our policy is to post funds from the award/bursary to your tuition.
A student can receive approximately $1,800 annually in awards before it affects OSAP funding. If you have questions about this, please contact Financial Aid at finaid@loyalistcollege.com
No. Your application is completely confidential and is used only by the Awards team to make the selection. Donors are notified of the first name and initial of their student recipient, to protect your privacy. If you wish to reveal your full name to your donor in your Thank You message, that is your choice.
