Housing options

Housing options can vary by the type of accommodation (private or shared).

Apartment or house rental 

• Students can rent living space as an individual or as a group in an apartment complex or in a house; each tenant typically has their own private bedroom with shared bathroom(s) and living space.  

Shared living/bedroom 

• Two students living together within a shared space including their bedroom. 

Homestays 

• Living with a local family, where the student shares living space with the family but has a private bedroom. 

Belleville region 

You should plan to spend between $500 – $1800+ CAD per month on rent, plus personal expenses.

One-bedroom apartment	$1,400 – $1,800+
Two-bedroom apartment	$1,800 – $2,200+

Port Hope region

There are a number of options in Port Hope and surrounding communities (ex. Cobourg) for off-campus housing.  You should plan to spend between $750 – $2500+ CAD per month on rent, plus personal expenses.
