Loyalist College’s reputation for sports is recognized both provincially and nationally – led by some of the top collegiate coaches in the province who bring a valuable mix of integrity and honesty to our students. The Loyalist Lancers are proud members of the Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) and compete in nine different sports within the league.

The Quinte Skyhawks are a national level football program, offering young athletes in Southeastern Ontario aged 17 to 22 who are passionate about the game, an opportunity to continue playing football at the next level of competition

Consider Becoming a Skyhawk

The Quinte Skyhawks are currently recruiting players, 17 to 22 years old, to join the Quinte Skyhawks Junior Football team. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Quinte Skyhawks or complete this recruitment form.

Quinte Skyhawks Junior Football

Quinte Skyhawks was established in 2017 bringing U16 and U18 football to the Quinte region. The Quinte Skyhawks have quickly developed a program that is known for its great game day atmosphere and putting a competitive team on the field.

In their inaugural season many players were distinguished on the stats leader board both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, with players winning prominent Conference awards and CFL combine invitations!

Since adding the U22 team, they’ve strengthened their reputation and have made their mark in the football community by putting Southeastern Ontario on the map as a prominent location for CJFL completion in Canada.

Canadian Junior Football League

The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) offers players who are passionate about the game the opportunity to compete at the next level.

The CJFL has been in existence since 1974. The league has offered young players the opportunity to play postsecondary football and has been a major step for many players into USports, CFL and other professional leagues. There are three Conferences (Ontario, Prairie, and West Coast) represented by 19 football teams with the season culminating in the annual Canadian Bowl.

Ontario Football Conference (OFC)

In addition to the Quinte Skyhawks, currently, there are five teams competing in the OFC Junior Division including the London Beefeaters, St. Clair Fratmen, the Hamilton Hurricanes, Ottawa Sooners and GTA Grizzlies.

Skyhawks Football

We know through experience playing organized sports teaches students so many valuable life lessons including how to be a good team player; how to be disciplined; how to enjoy a victory and how to deal with a loss.

The Skyhawks football team runs out onto the field in their team equipment and jerseys. The front three are carrying two team flags and a Canadian flag. A smoke machine is placed where the students run out.

Loyalist College recognizes and celebrates the achievements of our student athletes, and this excitement is evidenced in the game day experience.
