Loyalist College media students receive Canadian Media Educators Awards
Belleville, Ontario, June 12, 2019 – Ten students from Loyalist College’s Interactive Media Development – Film & Television Production and Broadcasting – Radio programs received Canadian Media Educators (CME) National Student Awards for producing outstanding work. At the CME Awards Gala in Canmore, Alberta on May 31, eight Loyalist students placed first and three students received an honourable mention in four of the 12 video categories, and one student placed first in one of the nine audio categories.
“We are proud of our students’ achievements,” said Ann Drennan, Senior Vice-President Academic & Chief Learning Officer at Loyalist College. “Being recognized on a national level by CME reinforces the excellent teaching and learning environment Loyalist’s faculty members facilitate and we look forward to seeing how these students contribute to film, television and broadcast industries in the future.”
The CME National Student Awards Program recognizes and rewards the unique combination of creativity and technical excellence demonstrated by students in radio, television/video, photography and animation taught in CME member institutions. Over 140 entries from colleges and universities across Canada were submitted to the 2019 CME National Student Awards Program.
