In celebration of the Métis Nation and Powley Day on Sept. 19th, the Indigenous Centre will be hosting a video presentation from 12 – 1 pm, along with some delicious corn soup.
Powley Day commemorates the historic 2003 Supreme Court decision recognizing the Métis as a distinct Indigenous people, paving the way for Métis self-government. It’s a time to reflect on this important victory and to welcome new and returning Métis students to Loyalist College.
All Loyalist College community members are welcome to attend! If you’d like to join us, please email bbrant@loyalistcollege.com to sign up so we know how much soup to prepare.
