LOYALIST COLLEGE APPOINTS SHANNON CLAGGETT AS DEAN OF APPLIED SCIENCES, SKILLS AND TECHNOLOGY

Belleville, Ontario, November 4, 2021 – This week, Loyalist College announced that Shannon Claggett will serve as Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, Skills and Technology effective November 29.

Ms. Claggett brings over 18 years of experience in the College sector, having held a number of academic positions at both St. Lawrence College and Algonquin College. Since 2007, she has served as the Associate Dean, Applied Sciences and Computing at St. Lawrence College. During this time, Shannon developed expertise in all facets of program delivery, including curriculum design and program development; lab design; capital equipment procurement and facilitation; program and school budgeting; quality assurance and improvement; applied research; industry partnerships and internationalization. Her knowledge of postsecondary education is complemented by significant technical and professional experience.

In addition to her experience in the education sector, Ms. Claggett is also a licensed Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the industry and holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) from the University of Manitoba, a Bachelor of Education (Adult Education) from Brock University, and a Master of Education (Educational Leadership) from Yorkville University. Ms. Claggett is active on several boards and committees and currently sits on the City of Kingston’s Climate Change Technical Committee.
