Loyalist College has announced program suspensions for approximately 30 percent of post-secondary programs, beginning in Fall 2025. This means that no new students will be admitted to these programs.  

Please find the list of affected programs below. 

Students currently enrolled in these programs will not be impacted and can continue their studies. We are committed to teaching out the program and supporting students through graduation. If any challenges arise or a student is unsuccessful in a course, we will work with them on a case-by-case basis to establish a completion plan.

Please note: Consistent with current practices, the college may also suspend program intakes that are limited to a location, a specific semester intake, or for a limited term. 

Frequently asked questions

Your studies will continue uninterrupted. If you are already enrolled in a program identified for future intake suspension, your studies will not be interrupted. All current students will have the opportunity to complete their program requirements and graduate on time. Loyalist College is committed to supporting your academic journey and ensuring you continue to benefit from an excellent learning experience and comprehensive student services. Your success remains our top priority.

Yes, your credential will remain valid. Program suspension does not affect the value of your diploma or certificate.

Yes, your studies will continue uninterrupted. All current students will have the opportunity to complete their program requirements and graduate on time.

  • Carpentry and Renovation Technician

Courses may be transferable depending on specific requirements. The courses you have successfully completed may be eligible to transfer to another program and/or college, depending on program requirements and course equivalencies. The credits from your program remain valid and reflect the high academic standards of Loyalist College.

The college will work with you to create an academic plan that supports the completion of your credential.

We are committed to ensuring you complete your requirements. The college will make every effort to ensure you have access to the co-op, internship, or placement opportunities required to complete your credential. Contact your program coordinator for specific details.

We’ll contact you with alternative options. If you applied to a program that has been suspended, the college will contact you directly. Whenever possible, we will offer you an alternative program option that aligns with your career goals and interests.

This means that the program will no longer be accepting applications or enrolling new students. We encourage you to explore alternative programs available at Loyalist College that align with your career goals and interests. Loyalist College is adjusting to changes in government policy that affect how many programs we can offer. These policies, along with lower student numbers and other financial considerations, have made it necessary for us to offer fewer programs to maintain the quality of our education.
