Belleville, Ontario, October 4, 2019 – Loyalist College proudly presented 58 diplomas and certificates to 54 graduates at the 20th Annual Bancroft Campus Graduation Ceremony on October 3.

“Through community-based placement, practicum, and other educational experiences, Loyalist students acquire career-ready skills which position them for success,” said Bob Forder, Chair of Loyalist College’s Board of Governors. “It is this community-driven approach to education that makes Loyalist an outstanding institution.”

During the Ceremony, graduates received post-secondary credentials in the following programs:

  • Ontario College Diplomas in Developmental Services Worker and Office Administration – Medical;
  • Ontario College Certificates in Personal Support Worker; and
  • Loyalist College Board of Governors Certificates in Food Service Worker, Health Records Clerk, Hospital Ward Clerk, Office Assistant, and Small Business Bookkeeping

“When you made the commitment to study at Loyalist, you decided to work toward reaching a goal that would shape your future and bring you closer to working in your chosen profession,” said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President & CEO. “You knew it would involve long hours and self-motivation. It tested your strengths and revealed areas of improvement. You embraced every challenge and persevered.”

Brooke Sears, Office Assistant, Coe Hill

Mary McConnell Bursary
Melissa Jantunen, Personal Support Worker – Barry’s Bay, Killaloe

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation Bursary
Amanda Eimers-Aide, Personal Support Worker – Barry’s Bay, Round Lake Centre

Valedictorian Courtney Olner, Personal Support Worker graduate, addressed her peers, “As we continue in our future endeavours always remember, the sky is the limit, you can do anything you put your mind to. I wish every one of you the best on the path you choose.”

Loyalist College Bancroft Campus is a vibrant and busy satellite campus which prepares students for rewarding careers by combining rigorous academic standards with hands-on training from industry experts.
