Admission and registration process for part-time, online diploma programs
Learn at your own pace, and develop the skills you need to advance your career with Loyalist College’s part-time, online diploma programs. Programs must be completed within seven years.
Step 1: Apply
Review the admission requirements and apply for the part-time program at Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS). If eligible, you will receive an offer of admission.
You must apply and be admitted to the program if you:
- Intend to complete the program and apply to graduate
- Require an enrolment verification letter
Step 2: Course review
Students taking part-time, online programs manage their own progression. You will review the courses in your program and plan what you want to register for in each term.
Please contact the program teams at ceece@loyalistcollege.com or cedsw@loyalistcollege.com if:
- You have any questions about which courses you should take or if it has been over two years since you completed a course
- You need a letter of intent for ECE grant funding
- You are planning to register for a placement course in the upcoming term
Step 3: Registration and payment
Registration opens approximately four weeks before the term begins. Please refer to the important dates listed below.
You will review the courses that are available to take in the upcoming term. Be sure to complete your courses in the recommended order. You should not register for a course if you have not completed the pre-requisite course(s). If you register for a course that you are not eligible to take, you may be withdrawn.

Option 1: Register online and pay by credit card
You must have your student number and PIN to register for courses online. The default PIN is birth date (YYMMDD). If you need assistance confirming your student number please email info@loyalistcollege.com. If you need assistance or resetting your PIN, please contact servicedesk@loyalistcollege.com.
- Go to the program web page on Loyalist Focus and add the courses to your cart
- Log in with your student number and PIN
- Check out and pay
Option 2: For OSAP students – pay a deposit and defer your balance of fees
You must have your student number to pay your deposit and submit your course selection form. If you need assistance confirming your student number, please contact info@loyalistcollege.com.
If you have applied for OSAP, you can request to pay a non-refundable $100 deposit and defer your balance of fees to the first day of classes. If you are approved, OSAP funding will be sent directly to the College to pay your balance of fees.
- Go to the program web page on Loyalist Focus and make note of the course code, course title, and course registration number (CRN) for each course you wish to take.
- Pay your $100 non-refundable deposit
- Online bill payment: Set up Loyalist College as an online bill payment, using your student number as the account number
- Make a payment using Loyalist College’s Flywire payment portal
- Submit the Course Selection Form.
Option 3: For ECE Grant funded students only – no action required
If you have applied for and been approved for the ECE grant, the College will receive confirmation directly from the funder. The Registrar’s Office will complete your registration based on the funding letter and send you a confirmation email.
Important information: registration changes and refunds
Registration changes
If you need to make changes to your registration or you no longer wish to take any courses in the upcoming term, you must notify the college to avoid financial and academic penalties.
To drop one or more courses after registration, submit a Continuing Education Drop/Withdrawal form.
Refunds
- If you registered online and you drop a course or withdraw from all courses within the first 10 days, you are entitled to a refund less a $20 administrative fee per course.
- If you were registered with a $100 non-refundable deposit and you drop a course or withdraw from all courses within the first 10 days, you are entitled to a refund less the deposit amount.
