On March 27, 2008, Loyalist College will host a special evening to celebrate the College’s 40th Anniversary. Net proceeds from the Gourmet Marché will benefit the student endowment fund for financial assistance, administered by The Loyalist College Foundation.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in The Parrott Centre with a viewing of selected paintings from the College’s Manly MacDonald collection and “The Loyalist Collection” of paintings by R. Gary Miller, and tours of the new Loyalist College Career Centre. At 6:30 p.m., the meal will be served Marché style in the Loyalist College Cafeteria. Club 213 and the students from the Chef Training/Culinary Management program will be preparing the meal, which will be served by the Hospitality Management students. The meal will be complemented with wine tastings made available by The Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards & Estate Winery.
The evening will also include a live auction with auctioneer Wendell White. Some of the items for auction include: Ottawa Senators package next season – four tickets plus two overnight rooms donated by Williams Hotels and McDougall Insurance; two “Ultimate Tickets to Ride” for Abbey Road On the River from The Empire Theatre; a Tim Horton’s gift pack from Hanley Corporation; a Limited Edition Print by Robert Bateman, titled “Salmon Watch – Spirit Bear”; an original watercolour by Ron Pickering; pottery by Jean Visser and Terrie MacDonald; original prints by Melissa Schatzmann; a hand-made quilt, and an autographed jersey from the record-setting Belleville Bulls!
Tickets for the event are $75, with a charitable receipt provided for a portion of the amount. Net proceeds will support the endowment fund for student financial assistance.
Loyalist College was incorporated in 1967. Today, the College offers over 50 career-oriented programs. The College offers small class sizes, and excels in graduate employment; 93.9% of Loyalist College graduates are employed within six months of graduation.
